Marie Bergenholtz

OWNER/FOUNDER/TEACHER

Teaches: Pre-Ballet, Ballet, and Jazz

Marie Bergenholtz is a veteran of stage, screen and television covering at least three continents. She is a graduate of the Ballet Academy of Gothenburg and the Dance Academy of Stockholm. Marie started acting, singing and dancing professionally at the age of 14 and has enjoyed every minute of it. When not working on stage or in front of the camera, Marie is teaching her skills to all ages. Some of the pinnacle points in her career were working with talented directors including Ingmar Bergman (Peer Gynt), Robert Wilson (Time Rocker), and Trevor Nunn (Cats).

After living and working abroad for many years, Holly is very happy to be back home in SoCal! She comes to us with an extensive professional performing background in Musical Theater, Film, Television and Studio Recording as a vocalist all over Europe and USA. One of the highlights of her career includes performing for 10 years in the Broadway production of CATS in Hamburg, Germany with Miss Marie. Other memorable shows: Annie, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, just to name a few. Holly has been teaching dance, drama and music to children of all ages for more than 30 years. Among those she trained with include Steven Peck, Al Gilbert, and San Diego Ballet Co. She is a certified Music Together Teacher-Holly believes it is crucial to enrich our children’s daily lives through music making & dance/vocal expression. She is thrilled to be joining Miss Marie’s faculty as a teacher of tap/jazz/musical theater. Holly is the proud mother of three grown children and grandmother of one.

Alice has recently settled in LA after living and performing in London and all over the world. She trained at Central School of Ballet and Millennium performing Arts. Musical Theatre credits include, Singing In The Rain, Tommy the Musical, We Will Rock You, Grease, Carousel, The Music Man, Promises Promises, Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty, Bang ,Bang, 42nd Street. She has also danced along side various British pop artists such as Steps, S Club 7 and Blue. Alice is proud to have performed in London's West End and all over the world dancing, singing and doing what she loves. She has always tried to teach as much as she can and loves passing on her knowledge and passions to the next generation here at Miss Marie's Ballet School.

Alice Mogg

Tap/Jazz, Musical Theater

Michelle trained at the Royal Ballet School and the Bristol Old Vic. Musicals include Cats, Starlight Express, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat, Saturday Night Fever, The Lion King, La Cava, Fosse, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She danced extensively for numerous artists like the Spice Girls and Pink before retraining as an actress. Theatre credits include: The Seagull, Much Ado About Nothing, The Vicar of Wakefield, A chaste Maid in Cheapside, Abortive, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Wind in the Willows, Othello, Pitching In and Nation. Television includes a recurring role in UK drama 'Doctors' and Series Regular Julia Richmond in HBO's 'Strike Back.' Michelle's excited to get back in the classroom and share her love of the arts with the next generation.

Laura has a BA in dance from UCLA. She has trained at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City and at the Pennsylvania Ballet in Philadelphia. She has performed with the Los Angeles Classical Ballet Company, LA Dances, has toured throughout Japan and Southeast Asia, and has appeared in videos, commercials and on film. A dance teacher for over 12 years, Laura uses her performance experience to create energizing ballet classes. Laura is excited to teach alongside Marie and is available to teach privately – both in classical as well as in jazz ballet – all students – all levels.

Laura Mazur

Jeffrey has over 30 years of experience in the Martial Arts. He has studied numerous different styles over the years and is proficient in all of them and has excelled in some of them, in which he holds multiple Black Belts. Tae Kwon Do, Shinken Jiutsu, Bando, Ninjiutsu, Aikido, Kuntau Silat and Jujiutsu, to name a few. From all these and more, he is now more involved in an integrated Martial Art style, Saru Jin Do, which utilizes the entire spectrum of strkes, kicks, joint manipulation and grappling. It is based on Taoist and Zen philosophies but mainly encourages students to conduct themselves with dignity and grace. To respect one self as well as others and to strive for honor as well as compassion.
